George MacDonald was a British fantasy author and a government minister (1824-1905). His poem is "lightly spiritual" co-ordinate to the publisher, Random House. I would agree with the assessment. God is mentioned a handful of times as are angels. It is not meant to exist a theological work by any stretch of the imagination.
The volume celebrates babies. Information technology is beautiful, sweet, ambrosial, lovely, delightful, charming. I love the illustrations by Jane Dyer.
My favorite lines:
How did they all just come to be yous?...more
God thought virtually me, and and so I grew.
Just how did yous come to us, you dear?
God thought about you, and then I am here.

This book is an illustrated verse form about where babies come from –turns it very mysterious and religious. The illustrations are soft and muted.
I was hoping this was a scrap more realistic, seeing every bit how I am currently expecting and it's a lot of work –the baby is certainly not falling gently from the clouds to exist placed in my arms. I don't expect to read a super realistic book to a youngster most conception, just this was a flake off putting for me at this moment in fourth dimension. The vocabulary in the poem would be confusing to a young reader/listener. Some of the illustrations are just darling and some kind of pitter-patter me out. This would book would part better as a souvenir from a fan of the poem to a religious parent.

Lewis, and Madeleine Fifty'Engle. Lewis wrote that he regarded MacDonald as his "chief": "Picking up a copy of Phantastes one mean solar day at a train-station bookstall, I began to read. A few hours afterward," said Lewis, "I knew that I had crossed a great borderland." 1000. G. Chesterton cited The Princess and the Goblin as a book that had "made a departure to my whole beingness."
Elizabeth Yates wrote of Sir Gibbie, "It moved me the style books did when, as a child, the dandy gates of literature began to open and get-go encounters with noble thoughts and utterances were unspeakably thrilling."
Even Mark Twain, who initially disliked MacDonald, became friends with him, and there is some evidence that Twain was influenced by MacDonald.
